We
search our hearts and minds.. our souls
restless with the winds of change that brings new season into our
lives… How do we cope with these… changes… and
how do they effect our lives and every day existence.
A
new day.. a new life and as the winds of change blow into your life,
you get on with all the challenges and in the beginning it is great
big adventure. An adventure of survival in this rather awkward world
of ours.
Finding
peace in prayer and meditation are constant companions of mine –
seeking the truth and His Word and meeting His awesome love in the
places in my heart. This love surrounds and comforts me. Knowing
that with each step I take, He is at my side. I smile when I say
that, because I know with all the turns in my life’s path,
He has needed to pick me up and carry me. My human strength and
courage strengthened by His ever giving persistence in keeping me
whole.

Carey update... A year later....
since that life giving transplant and Carey is doing well... amazingly and blessingly well.
2 July 2009

Thanks to all of you who have supported Carey in friendship and prayer since November 2007.
A very special appeal....
We are bombarded nightly on TV with appeals for very worthy, though anonymous, causes and few of us have not experienced the loss of some one dear to us and felt the horror of helplessness as our loved one deteriorates. But something can be done for Carey - she just needs a bone marrow match - and everyone's contribution can make that more likely to happen.
Every mother worries about their children who live far away but I have a particular anguish in that my daughter Carey in South Africa was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia last November and desperately needs a bone marrow transplant.

Carey has been in hospital in South Africa since 27 December, in a special unit where everything is as sterile as possible to protect her from any infections. The situation is very critical as basically all her own bone marrow is now gone and hopefully the cancer with it.
A local search in South Africa has not produced a match, so an international search is required. There are some strong contenders in Germany, however even the tests that are required before making a decision need funds let alone the transplant itself.
An undertaking like this requires funds far beyond a normal working families means, especially when speed is of essence. The target to reach is R300,000 and this is why we have started fundraising.
